A mechanic workshop located along Onitsha-Enugu Expressway, opposite Building Materials International Market in Ogidi, Anambra, reportedly succumbed to fire on Sunday. Mr. Martin Agbili, the Director of Anambra Fire Service, revealed this information in a statement provided to journalists on Monday in Onitsha.
According to Agbili, the fire outbreak was reported around 4:30 pm on Sunday, prompting the immediate deployment of two fire trucks and firefighters to the scene. The fire service successfully fought, controlled, and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby locations such as the bank or the bakery market.
Although some trucks within the workshop were damaged by the fire, the situation was brought under control. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and fortunately, there were no reported casualties during the incident.
