Anayo Modestus Onyekwere popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo is a Nigerian veteran actor, born March 1st, 1962 in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria.
He made his debut in Nollywood in 1992 in his role in living in bondage. In 2006 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role
In 1992, Kanayo made his debut movie appearance in the film Living in Bondage. Kanayo has been involved in over 100+ films in Nollywood.
He is currently a United Nations ambassador and bears the title of MFR.
Kanayo along with Kenneth Nnebue (producer of Living in Bondage), Olu Jacobs, Enoch Adeboye, Queen Elizabeth, and Fela Kuti were among Nigerians honoured by the government in 2014 during the centenary celebration.
The Veteran Nollywood actor has a multi-million naira house in his hometown in Aboh-Mbaise, Imo State.
His mansion of which he did a proper opening ceremony when it was completed, family friends came to rejoice.
Kanayo who is popularly known for his role in performing rituals in movies, has paid his dues in the Nigerian entertainment industry and he is one of the pioneers of Nollywood, he solely deserves everything owns today.
