There is currently a large crowd at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Marina, Lagos State, as Nigerians struggle to deposit their old N500 and N1000 notes.
Bellnewsonline.com reports that the development is based on the instruction of the governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele, who asked Nigerians in possession of the old notes to deposit them at offices of the CBN nationwide.
On Friday, citizens besieged the Marina branch office of the CBN to deposit their old naira notes.
It was observed that a handwritten notice indicating just a website, www.crs.cbn.gov.ng, was pasted at the gate of the bank.
Lagosians were seen copying and snapping the website with their phones in order for them to be able to commence the process of depositing their old naira notes with the apex bank.
