The result of a poll released by ANAP Foundation on Thursday stating that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi defeated other candidates has generated heat.

The campaign councils of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso have expressed their grievances over the poll.

The poll had shown that Obi came first with Tinubu and Atiku sharing the second position, while the former Governor of Kano State, Kwankwaso came forth.

Kwankwaso Reacts To Election Poll

The spokesperson of the NNPP presidential campaign council, Abdulmumin Jubril while reacting to the poll during an interview on Channels TV said the NOI poll over the years had been projected wrongly.

He noted that the NOI poll in 2015 claimed that former president, Goodluck Jonathan will win, however, he was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari.

Jubril noted that Kwankwaso has the northern part of the country on lockdown, adding that Nigerians will see the fact in the next three to four months.

Speaking on the chances of other presidential candidates, he described as “a good person (pilot) in a bad party (aeroplane) called APC.”

He further stated that Obi and his supporters are deceiving themselves, adding that Atiku has a chance of picking a fair number of votes in the 2023 election.

PDP Reacts To NOI Poll

The PDP campaign spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, claimed that Obi got the highest vote because the poll was carried out online.

He further stated that 57.5 per cent of supporters of Obi on social media do not live in Nigeria, adding that most of them are not human beings but bots on Twitter

Bwala said the majority of his supporters don’t have voters card and might not come to vote in Nigeria to vote.

He said, “it means that Peter is basking in the euphoria of hallucination and this (poll) result is a true reflection of that.”

Bwala said Atiku would gain more votes in the forthcoming election with President Buhari not contesting in the 2023 races.

APC Reacts To Poll Projecting Obi As A Better Candidate.

The spokesman of the APC presidential campaign council, Bayo Onanuga, in his reaction said there is no logic to the poll.

Onanuga said, “If you look at it, the reason why you have to dismiss this is this, the NOI poll gives our candidates 18% in the South-west, that is our base. You don’t need to do any opinion poll to know that that is the stronghold of our candidate. And they went to the northeast and gave our candidate 18 per cent again, whereas the same people gave Peter Obi 64 per cent in the South-east. You can see that there is no logic in this thing.”
