It has been confirmed by Bellnewsonline that, after a series of arguments and heated discussions, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has decided to extend its ongoing strike.
It was gathered that the decision was made after the National Executive Council meeting was held at the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ headquarters at the University of Abuja on Monday morning.
Recall that the ongoing strike which started on February 14 has put an end to all academic activities going on in almost all universities in Nigeria, both federal and state institutions.
This has made most Nigerian students appeal to ASUU, saying they should call off the strike for their sake so that the Nigerian education sector won’t suffer a great setback.
However, the Academic Staff Union of Universities insists that the currently ongoing strike won’t be called off unless all their demands are met by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
