Another Angle to Fr. Mbaka Saga: Was Poltical Dispensation Extended to… – Ike-Ikedoji

In the jurisprudence of the canon law of the Catholic Church, a dispensation is the exemption from the immediate obligation of law in certain cases.

Its object is to modify the hardship often arising from the rigorous application of general laws to particular cases, and its essence is to preserve the law by suspending its operation in such cases.

Did the particular church at any point permitted the laity to take their campaigns to Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria? A response to this question may provide a vent to the embattled Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka who appears to be caught in a Principle of Double Effect of choosing between either two evils or two values.

Historically, Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria is one of the largest platform of charity that the particular Church has in Nigeria and it has been providing shelter to the poorest of the poor.

Some of us as students do go to Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria to collect both school fees and pocket money from one Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka who barely know the names of those he is paying the school fees for, even medical fees, house rent, jobs among others.

Though the impression is that majority of the faithful gather in Adoratiin Ministry Enugu Nigeria to Pray, but beneath that prayer is litany of wants and needs , because of the level of poverty in Nigeria.

Therefore, it will be more logical to state with every degree of certitude that the Adoration Ministry is both a prayer and charity ground .

At least, it’s not a political ground, that is why we ask if politicians were given dispensation to visit Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria to practice their sophistry; which is more of a trade than what its suppose to be in the actual sense.

The truth remains that the crowd gathered in Adoration Ministry both in Enugu and Uke in Anambra attracts the politicians and not necessarily the sacrament, the Holy Spirit nor the Priest, because each of them have parishes and could simply go to their parish of residence and or domicile for the Eucharistic celebration.

They do go to campaign to the crowd, then supporting them should not be a challenge; though compelling one to so do is the challenge; however, simple maturity could have resolved all challenges.

The Codex Iuris Canonici (Code of Canon Law, currently the 1983 version) governs the Latin Church, which comprises the larger part of the Catholic Church.

Canon 285 of the 1983 Codex Iuris Canonici is a provision of Roman Catholic canon law that prohibits members of the Catholic clergy from doing things that are “unbecoming” or “foreign to the clerical state”. In addition, it prohibits diocesan priests and bishops from serving in “public offices which entail a participation in the exercise of civil power”

While all these are true, did the law permit politicians to go to these liturgical grounds to ply their trade? If not, then the Church should simply place a ban on political activities in Adoration Grounds and that will strictly include politicians addressing the ADORAS during or after liturgical celebration.

It was the attempt by politicians to EXPLORE into Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka’s “MARKET”, that provided the breeding ground for the entire crisis.

While Rev Fr Mbaka appears to lack the needed pastoral maturity to keep his temper under control in that material time , under such perculiar circumstance, let us not ignore the angle of the visiting politicians as if the church granted them DISPENSATION to so do.

In all these, the salvation of souls SALUS ANIMARUM must remain the goal and great pastoral care should be given to Fr. Mbaka not chastisement, because of the multitude of souls entrusted into his care.

Fr. Mbaka and Peter Obi must also find a middle ground , because nobody will win at the end of the day. Its either YOU WIN TOGETHER OR LOSE TOGETHER.
