Adeleke Names Two Osun Monarchs

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has given his approval for the appointment of two monarchs within the state.

The announcement came through a statement issued by Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment.

The newly appointed monarchs are Prince Peter Oluwole Akinyooye, who assumes the position of Olufon of Ifon in Orolu Local Government Area, and Prince Najeem Abefe, appointed as Onisara of Inisa 1 in Ejigbo South Local Government Council Development Area.

The statement released on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, highlighted that during the 2nd Executive Council Meeting of the State Government, Governor Ademola Adeleke granted executive approval for these appointments.

Furthermore, it was noted that the Oluwata of Iwata in Ejigbo South Local Government Council Development Area has been elevated to the status of a beaded crown monarch in accordance with the Chieftaincy Declaration and the Chiefs Law, Cap 25, Laws of Osun State 2022.

The government emphasized, “Appointments of Chieftaincy Declaration Oluwata of Iwata as well the Authority, to henceforth be a beaded crown Oba has been granted by the Osun State Executive Council to the Oluwata of Iwata in Ejigbo South Local Council Development Area.”
