A viral video circulating online captured the inferno blazing on the upper floor of the structure. As of the time of reporting, emergency teams had not yet arrived at the scene, leaving the fire to rage unchecked.
This incident occurred following another fire that broke out a month ago at the renowned Mandilas Building on Broad Street in Lagos Island Local Government Area.
In a separate unfortunate incident, three individuals lost their lives on Thursday afternoon when fire consumed a residential building in EFAB estate, Karsana District near Gwarinpa, Abuja. The fire erupted in a six-bedroom duplex located on Number 9, Dr. Fabian Nwaora Street, Efab Estate, reportedly triggered by an explosion from a drum of diesel in the backyard.
Efforts to extinguish the flames involved occupants of the building, passersby, and personnel from the Federal Fire Service (FFS). Despite their efforts, the fire proved difficult to contain. A safety official confirmed to reporters that the victims had been evacuated to the morgue.
