The Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has disclosed that the resignation of its Director-General, Doyin Okupe was based on personal grounds.

Bellnewsonline.com gathered that the Spokesman of the campaign council, Yunusa Tanko disclosed to Daily Post on Tuesday that Okupe resigned in the interest of ‘Obedients’ (supporters of the Labour Party flag bearer, Peter Obi).

Tanko explained that Okupe believes that the interest of ‘Obedients’ across the world supersedes his.

Bellnewsonline.com reported on Tuesday that Okupe stepped down from his position following the ruling of the Federal High Court Abuja on Monday sentencing him to jail.

Okupe, who was convicted by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu over a money laundering case brought before it by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on alleged money laundering and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N702 million valid had resigned following several reactions after his conviction.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Tuesday, Doyin Okupe shared a copy of his resignation letter written to the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi.
