It was reported that an ally of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, has said that Atiku Abubakar, might consider Wike’s request over Ayu’s resignation.
The ally who spoke under the condition of anonymity said that Ayu’s loyalists in the party were not disposed to it, as they said Governor Nyesom Wike was taking it too far.
He said, “There are a lot of people around Atiku Abubakar, who do not want Ayu to resign from office. These interests around Atiku feel that such request is not coming in good faith and they believe that it is dangerous and risky for the party because of the current formation of the party and the NWC.”
While he was speaking on whether Atiku Abubakar was disposed to Wike’s demands, he said that the party’s presidential candidate wants peace in the party and due to that, he is all ready to give in to Wike’s demand regarding Ayu’s resignation but, Ayu is insisting that he can’t resign.
