Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva, passed away in one of the most horrific ways, based on footage from the scene of the car accident that ended their lives.

Diogo Jota and his brother were reportedly driving in his Lamborghini on the A-52 by the town of Cernadilla, near Zamora in northwestern Spain, close to the border with Portugal, when the tyre of the supercar suddenly burst.

The event forced the car to veer off the expressway and then burst into flames. Footage from the scenes showed that the supercar was completely burnt, leaving only the wheels of the car and the number plate, which was used to recognise the owner.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva, passed away in one of the most horrific ways, based on footage from the scene of the car accident that ended their lives.

This horrific accident happened around 12.30am on Thursday, July 3, when Diogo Jota was driving to catch a boat en route to England to reunite with his club, Liverpool. The Premier League side was scheduled to resume pre-season training on Monday before Jota’s sudden death.

The Portugal international decided not to fly to England based on his doctor’s advice following his lung surgery, according to the Daily Mail. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it to the jetty alive.

Since his demise, tributes have been pouring in from across the football world, but his newly wedded wife, Rute Cardoso, the mother of his three children, is yet to make a public statement.

The A-52 road, where Jota’s supercar crashed, is said to be notorious in terms of reckless driving. In 2020 alone, 15,000 speeding fines were recorded on the said route.

Due to the incessant accidents and speeding on that route, a campaign was staged to sensitise the users of the road, according to the Daily Mail.
