Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of making Anambra Public Schools smart and encouraged head teachers to embrace technological advancements. He pledged to implement a comprehensive training program to ensure that teachers stay updated with the latest technology trends. As resources improve, the benefits of this initiative will extend down the line.
The Governor highlighted the positive impact of free education, noting a significant increase in enrollment in public schools by about 20 percent. He assured continued focus on enhancing the quality of teachers and teaching, underscoring the importance of partnerships with the private sector and communities for holistic development.
The distribution of laptops is part of the broader educational agenda, aligned with the six comprehensive pillars of education. Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Commissioner for Education, hailed the event as historic and emphasized the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the education sector.
Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, Chairperson of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, praised the Governor’s compassion towards principals, teachers, and students. She announced approval for equipping laboratories in all schools, further enhancing educational facilities.
Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, Chairperson of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, affirmed that the initiative fulfills the Governor’s promise to equip schools with government laptops and facilitate access to Wi-Fi. This transformational agenda aims to position public schools in Anambra as exemplary models of educational excellence.
