Mr. Uche Onyegbu has been appointed as the Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra, succeeding Dr. Franca Nwafulugo, whose tenure concluded on February 2.
The announcement of Mr. Onyegbu’s appointment came on Saturday through a letter signed by Mr. Omotayo Adeyemi, the Director of Human Resources Management at the Federal Ministry of Education. With a rich background in both administration and academia, Mr. Onyegbu brings valuable experience to his new role.
Previously, he served as the secretary to four consecutive rectors for 17 years, showcasing his adeptness in organizational management and leadership. Moreover, Mr. Onyegbu’s transition to teaching after his tenure as a secretary underscores his deep-rooted commitment to education.
Mr. Onyegbu holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), a Master of Science (M.Sc), and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA). Currently pursuing his doctoral program, he exemplifies a dedication to continuous learning and academic excellence.
Additionally, Mr. Onyegbu is an active member of esteemed professional bodies such as the Nigeria Institute of Public Administrators (FNIPA), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Professional Secretaries of Nigeria (FPSN), among others.
