Benjamin Okezie Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to advancing the prosperity of the entire South East geopolitical zone. During an interactive session with members of the Bende Traditional Rulers Council and Ndi Ugoeze Bende in Abia State, Kalu emphasized that President Tinubu is actively fulfilling his campaign promises for the betterment of Ndigbo.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Kalu commended Ndigbo for uniting to address challenges through the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P), an initiative launched by the deputy speaker in Bende. He urged traditional rulers to support the current government to maximize benefits.

Kalu stated, “Let’s also support the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Some were afraid whether he would remember the Igbo. But he has proved all of us wrong by choosing the Chief of Naval Staff. The President also handed over the issue of infrastructure into the hands of an Igbo son, Senator David Umahi… A President who does not love Ndigbo will not do that.”

He encouraged traditional rulers to back Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for effective development, promising to assist in taking care of their needs. Kalu, while meeting with the traditional rulers for the first time since his election as deputy speaker, expressed gratitude for their support and pledged to attract more development to Bende.

The Chairman of Bende Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Uchendu Okorie, assured their support for President Tinubu and stated, “We will follow our son where he goes. He has the capacity to do what is right. God will continue to uplift him. He’s not doing it for himself. He’s doing it for Bende. We will continue to go with him.”
