Atlantis: the legendary island that sank beneath the waves, some years past, taking down with it an advance civilization.
But Atlantis is not the only legend of a sunken city. Similar tales are told around the world, and it now seems that some of them are true.
And scientists have no shortage of myths, or geological events, to ponder: stories of volcanoes and earthquakes abound, as tales of catastrophic floods and lands submerged under the sea.
