Jail: The corruption allegations against the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by his former media aide, Michael Achimugu has continued to upset the spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, who believes that Atiku should be facing investigation at this time.
The allegations from Achimugu pointed that the Former Nigerian vice President and his principal had allegedly created companies by proxy, through which they kept their corrupt practices away from preying eyes.
Festus Keyamo, who recently revealed that he has petitioned the EFCC, ICPC and other agencies and given them 72 hours ultimatum to invite Atiku Abubakar, during an interview on Channels Television, mentioned that he is ready to face persecution and jail for taking up the fight against Atiku over the corruption allegations.
Festus Keyamo said that he is prepared to be sent to jail should Atiku Abubakar wins the Presidential election in February. He said that Nigerians ought to be angry by the alleged facts of the allegations against Atiku.
In his words, the politician said: “Nigerians seeing this fact should be genuinely angry. Inside, we should be boiling as Nigerians to say how do you do this at this highest level to us. The President and the vice President colluding to form companies, to steal money from the Public treasury to run their private businesses. And it was that time they established Bells University and American University, now we know where those funds came from.”
“Whether Atiku Abubakar wins or not, of course, I know he is not going to win, whether he wins or not, I am prepared to fail persecution under his Government for doing this. I am prepared to go to jail, I am prepared to go to prison, I am prepared to be persecuted.”
