We as people eat everything we want to eat which is not a good thing because we must make sure that we eat healthy to avoid unnecessary health problems. Today I’m going to list foods that you can eat before you sleep and foods that you can’t eat before going to sleep.

Let’s start with the best foods you can eat before heading to bed.

1. Spinach

Spinach contains magnesium, vitamin B and C which are playing the good role to human body.

You can eat it when you’re about to sleep because it doesn’t make any harm to your body and it can be easily digested.

2. Bananas

Bananas are excellent source for potassium and magnesium.

They also play a role in easing your body to relaxation which can make you fall asleep very quickly. Try this before sleeping and you’ll thank me.

3. Fatty fish

Fatty fish such as Salmon contains both Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin D.

This nutrition are very important to our body as they make us sleep faster that normal. Eat this before you sleep.

4. Sweet potatoes

This is my favourite food, you can try it too. They can make you sleep better, they contain B6 which boost your mood melatonin which prepares for sleep.

So eating sweet potato make you feel relaxed and sleepy at the same time which is good for our body.

5. White Rice

Eating white rice before you go to bed can make things easier for you to fall asleep faster.

It is high in carbohydrates which promotes restfulness and also high in glycemic index which reduces the time it takes to fall asleep.

I encourage everyone to eat rice often when heading to bed.

1. Fatty foods

Fatty foods such as burger, chips and pizza have high fats. This lead to struggle to sleep because they take longer to digest.

If you’ve been eating this foods before going to sleep, stop right there and change your routine.


2. Spicy foods

Many people eat foods that have spice. There are some of spices that contains hot peppers, this spices are not good for your body when you eat this before going to sleep. Other spices can cause heartburn on most of individuals which can prevent you from falling asleep, so avoid eating spicy foods when you’re about to sleep.

3. Ice cream

You all know that ice cream is high in sugar and you know that this can spike your insulin levels. High insulin level makes it hard for you to fall asleep, so please stop eating ice cream before bed time.

4. Tomato

Tomato is not a thing you can eat while you’re about to sleep. It makes things difficult for you to fall asleep. Please avoid eating tomatoes at sleeping time.

5. Wine

I know many people drinks late to unwind and relax.

Drinking wine is a bad idea when you’re about to sleep.

It’ll make you to wake up every hour because you want to urinate, this reduces your sleeping time which is a bad thing.

I advice you to think twice before drinking late.
