The spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has said the reason Bola Tinubu is shying away from the press is that campaigns for the 2023 election have not actually started.
Bellnewsonline.com reports that according to Keyamo, when the time comes, Nigerians ‘will hear from Tinubu again and again’.
“Campaigns have not started. The Nation will hear from him again and again and again,” Keyamo, also Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, told Bellnewsonline.com.
Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State is the presidential candidate of the APC.
The 70-year-old’s refusal to attend the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in August, preferring to send Senator Kashim Shettima, his running mate instead, has ignited discussions about his readiness and health status.
His failure to grant a live TV interview since his nomination in June as a presidential candidate has also been a focus of discourse on social media, especially considering his main opponents: Atiku Abubakar (Peoples Democratic Party), Peter Obi (Labour Party) and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (New Nigeria Peoples Party) have all granted live television interview(s) lately.
