Senator Ned Nwoko has expressed his belief that men who practice polygamy enjoy greater balance and stability compared to those with only one wife.
Bellnews reports that Nwoko made this known on Sunday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he spoke about his family life and responded to rumours of domestic violence involving his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
Speaking on how he manages four wives, the lawmaker compared it to standing on multiple legs, saying that having more than one wife provides better support and stability in life
He also stated that he feels pity for men who have only one wife, describing such situations as challenging to maintain.
When questioned about the religious aspect of his belief, Nwoko maintained that the Old Testament permits polygamy and said that his decision was based on personal conviction.
He added that he has no regrets about his marital choices and would take the same path again if given the chance.
Addressing the allegations of domestic violence, the senator firmly denied the claims, insisting that he treats his wives and children with love and respect.
He said: “That is a different topic for discussion on another day. Yes, every man should do that. The example I give is this: just imagine telling you to stand on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is. But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. That’s just the example I give. So I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.
“The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for.
“No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry.”
“No, come on. You know I am not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids.”
