The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku is being apprehensive about the current crisis in the party and how this could affect his chances in the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku in a wedding ceremony in Gombe said that the top hierarchy in the party has realized their mistakes and that they are ready to right their wrong in the upcoming days. He pointed out that they know there are aggrieved members in the party but he believes they can pacify them all before the campaign begins. Atiku said and I quote, ”PDP is a very popular party and it is the oldest party in Nigeria.
We have realised that we made mistakes. I’m still talking to aggrieved members of the party and I believe at the end of the day we will work together.”
The camp of Nyesom Wike has withdrawn from the Atiku Campaign council and clearly, Atiku is seeing that there could be a heavy consequence if they decide to pay deaf ears to the demands of the Wike camp.
