Bellnewsonline.com reports that a special adviser to Governor Sanwo Olu of Lagos state on Drainage and water resources whose name is Joe Igbokwe has boasted that the President elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu would rule Nigeria for eight years and hand over power to a Northerner. The issue of power rotation created issues prior to the presidential election as it was argued that it was the turn of the South East to produce Nigeria’s next President, many people who made the argument lined up for the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi who was also a former Governor of Anambra state.
Obi came with a major surprise after he defeated the two major Presidential candidates in their strong hold. Obi defeated Tinubu in Lagos which is a stronghold of the former Lagos Governor. As the March 18th Governorship election approaches, Obi has vowed to win Lagos state for the party. Igbokwe who asked the people of Lagos state to vote for Sanwo Olu for a second tenure claimed that Tinubu had supported Igbo men when he was Governor in the state and supporting Sanwo Olu is a way of repaying him back. He was quoted saying, if not for Lagos, a person like me would have been in Aba chasing lizards to and using it to become a native doctor, you come to Lagos with a nylon and you go back with a Rolls Royce, mark my words, Tinubu would be president of Nigeria from 2023 to 2031 and then another Northerner would be president from 2031 to 2039.
