President Bola Tinubu has appointed six new executive directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the appointments in a statement on Thursday.
The newly appointed executive directors are as follows:
- Vivian Edet – Executive Director, Finance and Administration
- Olalekan Badmus – Executive Director, Marine and Operations
- Ibrahim Umar – Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services
Ngelale stated that the President approved these appointments with the expectation that the appointees will efficiently execute their collective mandate. The goal is to enhance the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy sector to the nation’s GDP. Tinubu envisions the new executives playing a pivotal role in transforming the Nigerian economy into a labor-intensive and inclusive one. This aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda under the guidance of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
