A former Minister of Sport, Solomon Dalung while being interviewed by Symfoni on the State of the nation and the social media movement by the supporters of the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi said that Nigerians should not make the mistakes they made in 2015 by not investigating President Buhari before they elected him. Dalung said,
I’m one of the people that are very close to President Buhari. I mean I’m very, very close to him. Though I have resigned. I left the All Progressive Congress, APC, and join the Social Democratic Party, SDP, because I see APC as the party that disappointed Nigerians. It has failed and will never fulfill any of its promises. So it was wrong for me to continue to promote this inadequacy. I apologize to Nigerians for being part of the people that contributed to bringing them into government. Now, let me come back to the issue of Peter Obi, you see, for me, he is a good man, a young person, that could be a Nigerian president.
“But people need to ask him questions. Nigerians, most especially the youths are on the verge of making the same mistakes they made in 2015. There was a hurricane in 2015 that brought all sorts of people and created a political party with snakes, reptiles, and lions 2015.
It brought them into the National Assembly, most of them did not even spend N50,000, they were all elected because of that worry.
So the youths are making the same mistake. We are already mystifying Peter Obi and they are not engaging him. What will he do differently? But you see the power of charisma that was built around him. If you ask a question about him, then you are an enemy.
They will go after you. So the young people are repeating the same mistakes of 2015. Remember Buhari was powered by the same media.”
