In a disturbing incident in the Mile 3 area of Diobu in Port Harcourt, two suspected cultists, identified as Precious (aka Pere) and Chidebere (aka B2K), allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped a 14-year-old girl on Wednesday. The unsettling event unfolded around 10 am near a three-story building on National Street Mile 3.
According to an anonymous source, the perpetrators confronted the girl at an isolated section of National Street, brandishing what appeared to be a weapon. They then coerced her into compliance and abducted her. The source revealed that the girl was deflowered during the ordeal, and the assailants issued threats of harm if she disclosed the incident.
The apartment where the heinous act took place is allegedly owned by one of the landlords, whose son resides in the building. Notably, one of the suspects, Precious (aka Pere), had recently been released from prison.
The victim’s mother, who preferred to remain anonymous due to fear of stigmatization, confirmed the incident. The matter has been reported to the Nkpolu Police Division in Mile 3, Diobu, where the teenage girl received a medical examination and is currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Jennifer Stephens, the Vice Chairperson of the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, a rights group in Rivers State, condemned the abduction and gang defilement. She emphasized the urgency of arresting the fleeing suspects, urging the police to question the building owner or caretaker. Stephens revealed that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred in the same building, according to available information.
Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident, assuring that investigations were ongoing. Superintendent Iringe-Koko stated that the police were actively pursuing the suspects to ensure they face the full weight of the law.
