The Nnewi North Executive Chairman, Mayor Echezona Anazodo has commended traders, who have fully resumed their businesses following the state government’s directives.
Recall for years, markets, schools and workplaces had been deserted all because of Monday sit-at-home.Governor Soludo vowed to end the shutdown, he described as an economic sabotage against the state.
It must also be noted that Soludo has urged residents to ignore it and continue their businesses, assuring them maximum security.
During Mayor’s visit to all the markets in Nnewi on Monday, February 2, 2026, he witnessed great turnout and was pleased with the traders who complied.
Speaking to Newsmen at Agbo-Edo Nkwo Nnewi, Anazodo said Governor Soludo has put enough measures in place to ensure there is adequate security, adding that traders are free doing their normal business.

“Many security operatives have been stationed at strategic places to ensure adequate security of lives and property” he disclosed.
He called on those that are still afraid to come out and do their business, adding that there is nothing like Monday sit-at-home again because according to him the fear of the unknown has been eliminated all credit to Mr Governor.
Mayor Echezona Anazodo emphasised that the market leaders should be emulated for coming to their shops as early as 8:00 am in the morning to ensure that other traders come.
