A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic (PDP) and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday said the inauguration of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on May 29, should not be stopped.

Bellnewsonline.com reports that according to Sani, Tinubu should be sworn in as Nigeria’s new leader “so that we don’t jump into political paralysis and anarchy”.

“The inauguration should not be stopped so that we don’t jump into political paralysis and anarchy.

“The PDP and LP are in court and that’s okay. I believe even those who are in Court want to inherit the country in one piece,” Sani wrote on his verified Twitter handle.

This newspaper reports that the election that produced Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, as winner, is being contested in the court by the opposition.

It remains to be seen whether a significant verdict will be issued before the handover date of May 29.
