In an exclusive interview with bellnewsonline.com, Chief Barr. L. Chukwudi Ezenyi, a retired Assistant Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria and a prominent APC Chieftain, commended Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah for his strategic move to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking from his country home in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, Chief Barr. Ezenyi expressed his admiration for Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s political acumen.
Chief Barr. Ezenyi highlighted that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s decision to leave the YPP for the APC was a wise political move, emphasizing the importance of not being a political island. According to Chief Barr. Ezenyi, Senator Ubah’s aspirations extend beyond the governorship of Anambra State, aiming for national leadership, and he believes Senator Ubah is well-suited for the task.
Acknowledging Senator Ubah’s philanthropic efforts, Chief Barr. Ezenyi cited specific instances, including the provision of walkie-talkies, CCTV, solar lights, security gadgets, and over 10 security vehicles for the community of Nnobi. Chief Barr. Ezenyi characterized Senator Ubah as a man of the people, dubbing him the “man of the moment” based on his impactful initiatives.
Addressing the possibilities for Senator Ubah within the APC, Chief Barr. Ezenyi acknowledged that while the APC was not initially embraced by the majority, recent developments, including Senator Ubah’s move, signify a changing tide. He stressed the importance of being at the political center, pointing out that others, including Uche Ekwunife, have also joined or expressed interest.
Chief Barr. Ezenyi expressed confidence in Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s capabilities as a hard fighter, goal-getter, and grassroots mobilizer. He pledged his full support and weight behind Senator Ubah, asserting that, as a loyal party member, he would ensure Senator Ubah secures the party ticket if he decides to contest the next election.
