Tight security and political fanfare have taken over Yola as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embarks on state visit to Adamawa State today (Monday).

Security forces have mounted heavy deployments across strategic locations, particularly along routes and project sites slated for inauguration. Armed operatives were seen stationed at major junctions, with patrol vehicles positioned at critical flashpoints across the capital.

As of early morning, the Numan Road stretching through the Yola International Airport corridor into the city centre has been barricaded. Vehicular movement has been halted, forcing motorists to divert through the Jambutu Bypass from Air Force Comprehensive School.

There are also strong indications that the bustling Bank Road may be shut down completely as the president’s aircraft is expected to land at exactly 10:30 a.m., triggering tighter movement restrictions.

Yola is already wearing a ceremonial look. Billboards and posters bearing the president’s image now dominate major streets, roundabouts and public buildings, transforming the state capital into a festival of political symbolism.

Among the key projects lined up for inauguration are the newly constructed eight-lane Bank Road, a sprawling High Court Complex, a New Governor’s Office, an automated Government House Gate, and a Mega Model Secondary School strategically located directly opposite the airport.

In a symbolic cultural gesture, President Tinubu is expected to appear in traditional attire of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s Marghi ethnic group, a move seen as a nod to local identity and solidarity.

The visit has effectively placed the state capital under controlled movement, with security operatives maintaining a visible presence as Adamawa hosts the Commander-in-Chief.
