Pastor Richard Adeboye, the Pastor-in-charge of Region 12 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has called on Nigerians to offer more prayers for the country’s leadership to overcome its numerous challenges. In contrast to past approaches involving protests and curses that yielded no positive outcomes, Adeboye advocates relying on prayer as a means to effect positive change for the nation.
Speaking with reporters at this year’s Halleluyah Mega Praise Night, Season 2, themed ‘Dominion,’ held at Shimawa High School in Ogun State, the cleric emphasized the uniqueness of Nigeria and expressed optimism that the nation would soon experience victory.
Adeboye conveyed his philosophy that every possibility of God is influenced by the responsibility of man, urging Nigerians to fulfill their responsibilities, draw closer to God, and believe in divine intervention. He discouraged protests or confrontations with the government, citing past experiences that did not yield successful outcomes.
Quoting the Bible, he reminded believers that “the heart of the king is in the hand of God,” suggesting that seeking divine intervention through prayer is the key to bringing about positive change. Adeboye’s message to leaders emphasized recognizing the higher power that placed them in their positions and urged an end to the fighting against them. He emphasized the church’s role in promoting righteousness and integrity, highlighting the potential positive impact on the wider society if the church practices what it preaches.
