In a recent operation, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command conducted a raid on criminals’ hideouts in Ojota, resulting in the arrest of 26 suspects at the MKO Garden. The RRS confirmed the successful operation in a post on its official Twitter handle @rrsLagos767 on Saturday, disclosing that the arrests took place at 11:38 p.m. on Thursday.
The RRS operatives meticulously combed areas known for criminal activities, including Olusosun, Ojota, uncompleted buildings in Otedola Bridge, and Kurata. The MKO Garden in Ojota, identified as a notorious spot for criminal activities, was the focal point of the operation.
During the raid, the police successfully rescued two victims of robbery. The arrests and rescue mission were in line with the directive of Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade to RRS Commander CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, emphasizing the need to intensify surveillance and apprehend criminals in identified black spots across the metropolis.
After a thorough screening of the apprehended suspects by Commander Egbeyemi, 16 individuals were released to their relatives, while the remaining 10 are set to face charges in court. The RRS assured the public that the squad, under Egbeyemi’s leadership, will continue to uphold surveillance efforts to curb criminal activities in the area.
