The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi was at a meeting with the editors guild of Nigeria where he was asked some questions regarding his candidacy in the 2023 election.
During the meeting, one of the journalists asked him that if he loses the election, would he accept an invitation to work under any of the candidates that wins the election in the interest of Nigerians.
Reacting to the question, Peter Obi said;
“If you have a company, will you hire someone who’s incompetent and then allow him to hire someone who’s competent to work under him? You don’t go and get a conductor and said the conductor should be driving while the driver should be at the back advising him. We want the driver to be at the steering and the conductor at where the conductor stays, that is the only one we want.
The 2023 election is an essential election for our country, we can no longer continue management. The only way it can work and it works is when the person who’s in charge understands it.”
His response was also aided by laughter and applause from the audience.
