The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has reacted to the invitation of his colleague in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to join his quest for “justice” in controversy around President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.
Bellnews recalls that Atiku requested the release of President Tinubu’s certificate from the Chicago State University (CSU) to help him pursue his case at the Supreme Court.
The former Vice President sorted the credentials over the suspicion that the certificate Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may not be authentic.
Following the release of the certificate by the University, Atiku, addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, asked Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join him in unearthing the truth regarding the academic certificates of Tinubu.
But in a response to the call made by the former Vice President, Obi revealed that Atiku should pursue Chicago’s case alone, saying his own focus was on his appeal at the Supreme Court.
Speaking with bellnews on Thursday, Obi, through the Head of Obi-Datti Media Office, Diran Onifade, said both Atiku and Obi are at the apex court differently.
He said: “All I can say is that we’re at Nigeria’s Supreme Court as separate entities. That’s where things are at the moment.
“CSU is Atiku’s case. We’re only at the Supreme Court on our own.
