The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reacted to the death of Victoria Chintex, the party’s women leader in Kaduna State.
Bellnewsonline.com earlier reported that Victoria was confirmed dead on Tuesday after unknown gunmen suspected to be assassins stormed her residence.
The gunmen on Monday night, November 28, 2022, invaded the home of Victoria and shot her dead while her husband sustained gunshot injuries.
I Must Prioritize War Against Insecurity
In a statement shared on Twitter, Peter Obi expressed shock over the tragic incident stating that the death of Victoria is a huge loss to her immediate family and the LP at large.
The former Governor of Anambra noted that the incessant loss of innocent lives across the country to gunmen and terrorists is the major reason he would prioritize the war against insecurity if he becomes the president.
He said: “I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.
“Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritize the war against insecurity as my first task in office. We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.
“May the soul of Late Mrs. Victoria Chintex rest in perfect peace. My sincere condolence to her family.”
