Some Governors from both the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and others from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have stormed Ibadan, Oyo State to see the ailing Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeedolu.
The Governors under the platform of the Southwest Governors forum visited the ailing Governor Akeredolu, who has been recovering at his residence in Ibadan, following his return from medical treatment abroad. The visiting governors included Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State. However, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State was absent from the meeting.
The delegation was hosted by Governor Makinde of Oyo State in his office at Agodi, Ibadan. Following a private meeting, they proceeded to Governor Akeredolu’s residence at Jericho, Ibadan.
Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary of the Ondo State Governor, expressed Akeredolu’s gratitude for the solidarity shown by the visiting governors and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among the Southwest states.
During their discussions, the governors addressed national and regional issues affecting the Southwest and its people. The South-West Governors’ Forum extended their prayers and support to Governor Akeredolu during his recovery period.
