Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accompanied by Alhaji Musa Halilu (Dujima Adamawa), on Tuesday evening visited former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at his residence in Abuja.
The meeting comes amid mounting speculation over a possible opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been at the forefront of consultations aimed at building a united front with other opposition leaders, including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and El-Rufai himself.
El-Rufai had, while speaking on the ongoing deliberations, stated that the objective of the coalition would be to ensure that President Bola Tinubu loses his bid for re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
