Nnewi, Anambra State – The Obi of Nnewichi Nnewi, Obi George Onyekaba (Obidiugwu), has declared his unwavering support for the Nnewi People’s Forum, emphasizing his commitment to upholding the existing tenurship zoning arrangement of nnewi North Local Government chairmanship position. Insists it’s two years for every quarter and Umudim must step aside for Nnewichi in the interest of peace and mutual coexistence.
Speaking at the recently concluded summit held at Anaedo Hall, Obidiugwu strongly condemned attempts to distort the zoning arrangement, particularly with regards to the local government chairmanship position.
He described such efforts as a significant threat to the unity and peace of Nnewi, emphasizing that any attempts to disrupt the arrangement would have far-reaching consequences.

The traditional ruler reiterated that his quarter, Nnewichi, is due to produce the next local government chairman of Nnewi North, and he would not tolerate any moves to undermine this arrangement.
He urged The Executive Governor of Anambra state and all stakeholders to respect the zoning arrangement, which he described as a time-tested framework for ensuring equity and fairness in the distribution of political offices in Nnewi North.
