The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken proactive steps to address the recent surge in airfares by establishing a committee dedicated to reducing fares.
Acting Director-General of NCAA, Chris Najomo, announced the formation of this committee via his official handle on Monday.
In a tweet, Najomo stated, “The NCAA has observed a significant rise in airfare costs, particularly for international travel. In response, we have initiated the formation of a high-powered committee tasked with examining all factors contributing to these increases and devising strategies to lower fares.”
“We have engaged with airlines, stakeholders, and relevant agencies to address this issue comprehensively,” Najomo added, emphasizing the commitment of NCAA to ensure that airfares are brought down to more reasonable levels.
