LllA former governor of Anambra state and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has said that being in the opposition in Nigeria is challenging.
Speaking in video during a press conference seen by Politics Nigeria, Obi said his family and business faces a lot of challenges because is part of the opposition to the present government.
He said, “If you know what I face, what I go through, what my family go through, you won’t even believe I should be standing.l and going around this country.”
Obi, however, said he has made up his mind to continue working towards ensuring that Nigeria becomes a better place for all.
He said, “But I’ve made up my mind that if this be the end, so be it. Because you can’t allow the country… it is difficult to be in opposition in this country; extremely difficult.
“Because everything is against you, people don’t even want to see you,” he said.
Continuing, the former governor said some of his colleagues and friends find it difficult to relate with him or even felicitate with him because they do not want to be perceived as being associated with him by the government in power.
“They don’t even want to talk to you. I see colleagues, I greet them at the airport, they don’t even want to reply because they feel, they want the government of the day to see you or see them greeting you.
“Your business, everything you’re involved with is dismantled,” Obi added.
