A yet-to-be-determined number of individuals are currently trapped following the collapse of a building under construction near the Ochanja market in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Reports indicate that the building, intended to serve as a market upon completion, collapsed at approximately 8 pm on Monday, with several workers reportedly inside at the time of the incident.
The collapse has prompted panic in the vicinity, with bystanders and residents mobilizing to assist in the rescue efforts for those trapped beneath the rubble.
As of the latest update on Tuesday, one fatality has been reported, while two others have sustained injuries of varying degrees. Rescue operations are underway as emergency responders work to extract individuals from the debris.
