Akintoye Benson, an aide to Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and the chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, has tragically died.
Reports from The PUNCH indicate that Benson, who was seen in a viral video showing a wrecked vehicle, lost his life in an auto crash on the Third Mainland Bridge on Thursday night.
A close friend of the deceased, Ogunseye Vincent, expressed shock and sorrow on his Facebook page, describing Benson as a dynamic individual with lofty aspirations and vision.
“The news of your passing came as a rude shock. You were a dynamic individual with lofty aspirations and vision. Although the memories we shared remain etched forever, I find solace in the belief that the Almighty will grant your soul eternal peace. Farewell to eternity, Comrade Akintoye Benson (Baba Ogun),” he wrote.
Until his untimely demise, Benson served as the chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria Zone H.
Efforts to reach Akinsanya for a comment were unsuccessful as his phone was unreachable at the time of filing this report.
