Joe Igbokwe, a prominent Nigerian politician and engineer, has urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the South East as a result of the region’s bloodshed.
The leading politician proposed that the military assume control of the Zone until sanity returns and the pace of bloodshed in that area is reduced.
Following the death of Okechukwu, the Anambra State Lawmaker, Joe Igbokwe issued a statement on his Facebook page.
We recall that Hon. Okecukwu Okoye, an Anambra lawmaker who represents Oguta II Constituency in the state house of assembly, and his aide were kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Hon Okechukwu Okoye’s head was later recovered in a motor part, where the guys who beheaded him had dropped it.
In response to the heinous occurrence, a leading Nigerian politician remarked that he has no idea what is going on in the south because the incidents in Igbo Land are no longer routine.
He proposed that the government proclaim a state of emergency in the South East so that the Army can assume control until the region’s sanity returns
