The High Court in Kano has overturned the suspension of the national chairman of the All Progressives congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje.
Bellnews reports that the presiding judge, Justice Usman Mallam Naaba, issued an order halting the enforcement of the interim injunction granted on April 17, 2024.
This injunction directed the involved parties to maintain the status quo as of April 15 regarding the suspension of the APC national chairman by some Ganduje ward executives.
Recall that the leadership of the APC at Ganduje ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government had suspended Ganduje, a former Kano governor. over corruption allegations leveled against him by the state governor.
The court also restrained the Ganduje from parading himself as member of the APC.
The court ordered that henceforth, Ganduje should desist from presiding over all affairs of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC.
The application granted by Justice Usman Na’abba followed an ex parte motion filed by Dr. Ibrahim Sa’ad, on behalf of two executive members of the APC Ganduje ward, the assistant secretary, Laminu Sani and legal adviser Haladu Gwanjo as plaintiffs, who were part of the nine ward executive members that approved the suspension.
