Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, has described how the state government secured the safe return of victims of the Kajuru abduction.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ on Friday, Maiyaki said what is happening in Kaduna is uniquely part of the state’s peace model.

The Commissioner explained that it is a non kinetic strategy that is anchored in community engagement.

Recall that gunmen, in January stormed three churches in the state and kidnapped over 100 worshippers.

Bellnews, however, reports that Governor Uba Sani on Thursday received 183 kidnapped returnees who were rescued after 19 days in captivity.

Speaking on how they were rescued, the Commissioner said, “I wish to inform Nigerians that what is happening in Kaduna is uniquely part of the Kaduna peace model. It’s a non kinetic strategy that is anchored in community engagement.

“So basically, it is a proactive strategy that actually involves dialogue with community members, traditional institutions and other key leaders of communities. So we thank God the governor is excited because he made a promise the day this incident happened.

“When he visited this community, he made a pledge to ensure that no one is hurt, no one will be left behind. And we thank God, we give God the glory all the victims are back against every odd.”
