President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria from France.
The President arrived in Abuja, the nation’s capital, in the early hours of Friday.
Tinubu is scheduled to swear in a successor to the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola today.
Recall that the National Judicial Council (NJC) recommended Justice Kekere-Ekun, the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court, to succeed Justice Ariwoola as the new CJN.
Justice Kekere-Ekun has had a distinguished judicial career, serving as a Senior Magistrate II in the Lagos State Judiciary, a State High Court Judge, and Chairman of the Robbery and Firearms Tribunal, Zone II, Ikeja. She was appointed to the bench of the Nigerian Courts of Appeal in 2004 and became a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2013.
President Tinubu’s return to Nigeria comes after a short trip to Paris, where he utilized the newly acquired Airbus A330, which replaced the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700(BBJ) purchased during the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo.
