President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria’s security situation would improve with the creation of State police.
Tinubu disclosed this while noting how he bragged to the United States, US, and European leaders that Nigeria will witness improved security when State Police is established.
He spoke while addressing the All Progressives Congress, APC, governors at the party’s caucus meeting held on Thursday at the State House in Abuja.
The president said he’s banking on the APC governors to ensure that State Police succeeds when established.
“I had a very long discussion with the US and European leaders. I was bragging to them that definitely we will pass a state police to improve security.
“They asked me if I’m confident, and I said, ‘Yes, I have a party to depend on. I have a party that will make it happen. And if at this level we fail, God forbid, we will not fail,” he said.
This comes amid the recent kidnappings in Kwara and Niger States by gunmen believed to be bandits who stormed a church during a live service and a school to carry out abductions.
