The Managing Director of Silver-Bless International Agencies Ltd and the Candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2019 General Election for the Federal House of Representatives for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Hon.Chuka Sunnyside, has posited that for the purpose of Justice, Fairness and Equity, Nnewi South should produce the next Senator to replace the late Distinguished Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah.

He made this clear during an exclusive interview with Don Peter Okoro at his “Sunnyside Castle” country home in Orjiezeka, Amichi last Sunday. In his words: “I want us to first of all observe a minute’s silence in honour of our departed brother, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, who has left this planet earth to meet with the Lord. I send my sincere condolences to the family.

Then, coming to the subject matter, without being told, if you look at the political setting of Anambra State, you’ll realize that Nnewi South is being grossly marginalized. I remember when I contested for the Federal House of Representatives, I went as far as meeting all the PGs and Traditional Rulers and explained things to them.

You can see that all along, Nnewi South has been marginalized. There’s no development, no political position, elected or appointed. Since the time of Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, the former Speaker House of the Representatives, that came from Amichi, till date, no Federal position has come to Nnewi South.

When I contested,I made everyone to understand that Nnewi South is made up of 20 Wards, while Nnewi North is 10 Wards and Ekwusigo 12 Wards. Nnewi South has the voting capacity to determine who goes to the Federal House as far as these LGAs are concerned, yet we are grossly marginalized. Hon. Chris Azubogu was in the Federal House of Representatives for 3 consecutive tenures while our brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was in the Senate.

Meanwhile, Nnewi South was empty, I kept on saying that we should come back to the drawing board and make things right. What I’m saying in essence is that it is the turn of Nnewi South to produce who is going to fill this vacuum that our brother has created.

I suggest that we all go home and look into this matter critically and do what is supposed to be done. We don’t want any other Candidate to contend with whosoever Nnewi South would bring forward. I can assure that Nnewi South has a lot of timbers and calibers who can stand firm to replace our beloved brother.

Already,we are going down to the grassroot to get a good Candidate who can fill the big vacuum and give us quality representation.

“On Anambra State, he thanked the Executive Governor His Excellency Prof. Charles Soludo for the excellent work he is doing in different spheres like roads, schools and skills acquisitions.

He also commended him for appointing Chief Ken Emekaya as his Special Adviser on Security. But as for the country, it is thumb down as he pointed out that things are not going the way he expected.

According to him, his expectations were that the President of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would rise up to the occasion and give Nigerians excellent leadership, but what is on ground now is a far cry from what he envisaged. He however submitted that there is still time and room for amendment and improvement.
