The Director of Schools for The UNITED NATIONS Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre, in Anambra State, Her Excellency, Amb.Pastor (Mrs.) Jpndukwe Nkechi Renee, has stated that it is only in building one peaceful environment at a time, that we will be able to build a peaceful world.
She made this clear during an exclusive interview with Multiple Awards Winning Journalist, Don Peter Okoro, recently.
The UNITED NATIONS AMBASSADOR For World Peace, who was Investitured on the 28th of March 2024 at the National Merit Award House in Abuja FCT,was also recently appointed and Inaugurated as the UNITED NATIONS (PEPOLAC) Director For Schools In Anambra State.
Asked about what the appointment meant to her,she replied:
“I feel very elated for such an honour, though, being recognized as a person of peace is entrusting one with more responsibilities for a peaceful life.I thank God for such an opportunity.”
On how she intends to go about her assignments, she responded:
“Peaceful environment is needed if education is to thrive. I want to first of all, express my gratitude to the International Coordinator for trusting me with such an office.
We will work with existing structures in Anambra State School System to catch them young. We will collaborate with School Principals,HMs and Stakeholders in the Educational Sector to ensure our School environment maintain a peaceful atmosphere that promotes learning.””
Asked what her message would be if asked to address a handful of students on the Imperatives of peaceful and harmonious co-existence, she answered:
“As future Leaders and Global Citizens, they have a very important role to play in shaping a more peaceful world. They must show empathy and compassion; they must respect diversity and support fundamental human rights. Above all, they must always promote dialogue and non-violent conflict resolution methods.”
On where she thinks this appointment will take her, she offered:
“This appointment is an opportunity to serve humanity, which will continually present more opportunities to serve in higher capacities and I believe this current one is preparing me for such higher opportunities.”
On her words of exhortation to the youths, she replied:
“Seek peace and keep peace. As the Bible says: Pursue Peace With All Men. For it is only in building one peaceful environment at a time, that we will be able to build a peaceful world. Thank you.””
