The Imo State Police Command has beefed up security at strategic locations within the state, especially in the capital city, to forestall any breakdown of law and order following the conviction of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, by a Federal High Court.
The Command, following directives given by the State Police Commissioner, Aboki Danjuma, has deployed enhanced security measures across the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to a press statement issued by the spokesperson of the Command, DSP Henry Okoye, the move is a proactive measure aimed at preventing any breakdown of law and order by criminally minded individuals and ensuring the safety of all residents.
He added that in collaboration with sister security agencies, the Command has intensified visibility patrols, conducted intelligence-led raids on suspected criminal hideouts, and deployed a show of force across the state to deter criminal activity while reassuring the public of the Command’s readiness to maintain peace.

Okoye stated that personnel have also been strategically positioned to safeguard critical government facilities and public infrastructure, while ensuring that law-abiding residents carry out their daily activities without hindrance.
“The Command therefore warns that any individual found engaging in activities capable of disrupting public peace will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
“CP Aboki Danjuma reassures Imolites of the Command’s unwavering commitment, in partnership with other security agencies, to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace throughout the state,” he stated.
