Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has vowed to continue giving his political opponents sleepless nights.
Wike said his opponents in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, All Progressives Congress, APC, or in African Democratic Congress, ADC, will have sleepless nights as long as he is on the side of the law.
The Minister disclosed this on Thursday at a media briefing shortly after the FCT Executive Committee meeting.
He made the comment while defending his outburst with a Naval officer, Lieutenant AM Yerima during a land dispute in Gaduwa area of Abuja.
The plot of land which was allocated for Parks and Recreation was being altered by the owner, a former Chief of Naval Staff, Awwal Gambo (retd).
Efforts by officials of the FCT Administration to stopped workers from illegally converting the land from the original allocation failed as military officers were drafted to the site and prevented them from carrying out their duty.
Aggrieved by this move, Wike stormed the site in company of his team but they were prevented from having access to the property by the Yerima and the military officers.
The action of Yerima and the military officers led to a heated argument with Wike and the situation had since degenerated into a national outrage.
However, Wike said: “I have no regret of my political opponents, I will continue to make them have sleepless nights, whether you are in PDP, APC, or ADC.
“I have no regrets, in as much as I know that I’m standing by the law, if you like bring any ethnicity and colouration, it’s your business.”
