Idemili South LG Poll: APGA Chairmanship Aspirant steps down for Hon. Amaka Obi

The Chairmanship Aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon Augustine Ejibendu has withdrawn from the contest and thrown his support behind the incumbent Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, Hon. Amaka Obi.

Hon. Ejibendu, Igada Oba, who spoke to our Correspondent during the gathering of the APGA family to endorse Hon.Amaka Obi for second tenure at Chief Ayinofu’s residence in Oba said he withdrew from the race to support Iyom Amaka Obi for the good works she has been doing for the good people of Idemili South, especially in Oba.

“I and other aspirants in Oba decided to withdraw from the race in full support of Iyom to complete the good works she has started in Idemili South. I am quite convinced that Iyom will not disappoint our people, if we give her our maximum support” he reaffirmed.

Igada Oba said he would actively campaign for the capacity Mayor as the party prepares for its primary on February 15, 2026, adding that Hon. Amaka Obi has indeed demonstrated high-level of honesty and integrity for a period of a year plus.

“We, the people of Oba will support your aspiration physically, and morally to ensure you emerge victorious on the day of the election” he assured.
